III.
What counts in this expanded field of painting is not only other art forms as such but of course the experience that they enable both artist and viewer to have. So what does this new relationship to space and time that installations have made possible mean for painting? And where does painting stand in relation to process, action and interaction – three factors that carry considerable weight in the performative media?

These are the kind of questions that we must ask ourselves if our collection is to embrace contemporary painting’s most exciting new positions.
