Education and culture are important values. The Ricola Collection communicates this consciousness of the company’s owners both to its employees within the firm and to the public. But collections also have very ordinary tasks, though they are no less important and are directly connected to the culture of the day: by acquiring works of art, they enable artists to work creatively. Other tasks of a collection include documenting and propagating the art collected, preserving and caring for the works, and lending them to exhibitions. Works from the Ricola Collection are thus seen not only within the company, but also outside of it. Works from the collection are regularly lent to exhibitions at museums in Switzerland and abroad.


Through January 15, 2012, the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein in Vaduz is showing Example: Switzerland. Unbounding and Crossing Over as Art. More than forty artists from 250 years of the history of Swiss art are presented by exemplary works in this large exhibition. It is a selection of space-oriented art from Switzerland. This exhibition is unusual because the works of art are not arranged and exhibited chronologically; rather, works from different periods are placed side by side. [...]
