Bruno Jakob receives the 2014 Ricola Collection Prize

The Ricola Collection has awarded its first ever prize to Swiss artist Bruno Jakob, who lives in New York. He is being honored for his outstanding contribution to contemporary painting with an award comprising prize money of CHF 20,000 and a publication with a tribute by art historian and curator Bice Curiger.

The prize will be presented at the Ricola headquarters in Laufen (Switzerland) on January 15, 2014.

As a globally active family business, Ricola stands for first-class products and tradition, but also for an international, modern, and open Switzerland. The family shareholders that comprise Ricola Holding have been building up the Ricola Collection of Swiss contemporary art since 1975, and their close relationship with this field forms part of the cultural fabric of both the family and the company.

The collection is displayed at the company’s premises, thereby making the works accessible to employees at their workplace on a day-to-day basis.
